A high over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge with a southeasterly wind flow into southern Queensland waters. Tropical Cyclone Winston, northeast of Norfolk Island, is producing a long period easterly swell that is likely to persist throughout the forecast period.

Caution – Deceptively powerful surf conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as crossing bars by boat and rock fishing.
