Weather Situation

 

A large high near Adelaide extends a ridge through Queensland. The high will shift eastwards over the coming days, maintaining a relatively firm ridge over southeast Queensland waters.

Sunshine Coast Waters Forecast:Double Island Point to Cape Moreton

Winds : South to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, increasing to 15 to 20 knots during the morning, and to 20 to 25 knots in the afternoon.

Seas : 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres during the afternoon.

Swell : Southerly 1 to 1.5 metres offshore.

Weather : Partly cloudy. 70% chance of showers.

Spinkys’s Best Bet To Get Ya Froth On : 

Clean condition early with winds from the SW. A slight increase in the swell overnight with waves in the 2ft range with larger waves on the south facing swell magnets. Get into it early as the wind will strengthen from the S/SE at 15-20 knots. An early high tide at 6.12am. Coolum through to Sunshine beach early, it gets smaller as you head south along the central beaches, with Currumundi to Dicky Beach worthwhile a check. As the wind picks up and tide drops head to the sheltered points, Moffats, Pt.Cartwright and Alexandra Headland. The patrolled beaches looking good early with Mooloolaba and Noosa the pick of the spots. Swim safe between the red and yellow flags. Water temp at 21c. Enjoy your day in the waves. Ýo
