There’s been a lot of talk about the new ASP tour format, in particular the new live coverage commentary team and format – yesterday in true drawly yank Nascar ESPN winter olympic style they told us, among other things, that ‘Owen Wilson’ was out there in a heat, that JS Surfboards are shaped by ‘Jason Jamieson’ and let us know 473 times that another surfer was going past ‘Little MaRRRley’ – cringeworthy doesn’t even describe it. Plenty of bleeding ears out there, but you better get used to it – apparently that’s the team, for every event, and they’re not changing.
