A still shot from the original Roxy ad featuring Stephanie Gilmore…
SEX sells – even when it’s an old bloke involved.
The brains behind the Noosa Festival of Surfing have filmed a cheeky parody of the controversial Roxy ad.
Close-ups of sultry Stephanie Gilmore rolling around half naked in bed have been replaced by the wrinkled and hairy body of an older man.
The spoof goes on to replicate the now infamous ad shot-by-shot – with a few hilarious differences.
While Gilmore leans over to grab her phone, he reaches for his dentures.
She’s got a plate of fresh fruit by her bed, he’s got greasy bacon and eggs.
She’s got a guitar in the background, he’s got a set of crutches.
The unofficial teaser for the 2014 event has earned more than 1000 views since it was uploaded to YouTube on Sunday, almost a week after the ad for the 2013 Roxy Pro Biarritz made headlines for the wrong reasons.

It was branded as “sexploitation” and compared to soft porn.
Noosa Festival of Surfing director Phil Jarratt said he saw no big problem with the Roxy video, but wanted to poke fun at those who did.
“What I was hoping to do was show that our event was about having fun,” Mr Jarratt said.
“We’re just taking the mickey a bit and showing we don’t take ourselves too seriously.”
Not everyone has seen the funny side though. “A couple of people have commented they thought it was in poor taste,” Mr Jarratt said.
He said he could not see the big fuss about the Roxy ad.
“It was a nice, professional video they did, there was just no surfing in it,” he said.
“We were just having a dig at that.”
And the man in the video? None other than Mr Jarratt.
