Weather Situation

A large high near New Zealand extends a ridge along the east coast of Queensland. A new high is developing in the Great Australian Bight and will move into the Tasman Sea late today. This high will reinforce the ridge along the east coast of Queensland on Friday and the weekend.

Winds :  Southeasterly 15 to 20 knots.

Seas : 1 to 1.5 metres.

Swell : Easterly 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres offshore.

Weather : Partly cloudy. 60% chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm.

The Easterly swell is in the 3-4 foot range, with lighter winds early from the south, before strengthening in the morning to 15-20 knots from the E/SE. The open beach breaks around Currumundi,  Maroochy stretch, Pt.Cartwright and Alex looking ok early,  with the points of Noosa having the cleaner waves. Tide is on its way out, with low at 7.39 am and high at 1.21 pm. The patrolled beaches of Mooloolaba and Noosa the best with the water temp at 25c. Enjoy your day in the waves. Ýo
