The XXL NW swell hit Hawaii’s north shore, with 20-25ft face waves and even larger sets moving in through the afternoon at the peak of the swell. The downside was the NE shifting ENE winds were not favouring many of the North Shore’s infamous breaks, with Waimea Bay still rideable and many of the Local Hawaiian Big Wave surfers including ‘Keala Kennelley and ‘Koa Rothman’ taking the Waimea beast on.

Surfline’s forecasting team have been monitoring the XXL swell days out, and as forecasted, today was the day for the big wave surfers to get their froth on. Surfline also introduced their first LIVE streaming event ‘ 20ft+’ , bringing the XXL swell that’s pounding Waimea Bay straight to your living room, desktop, cell phone or any other device you happened to be using around the world.

If you missed the LIVE stream, Surfline have made the recorded stream available via their Youtube Channel. Sit back, grab a tinny or two and watch over 4 hours of the XXL Swell pounding Waimea Bay.
